Tracy Kennard Emerging Writer’s Award

This annual award will be given to a selected participant of the Spruceton Inn Artist Residency.

The Tracy Kennard Emerging Writer's Award will be presented to an accepted writer to the Spruceton Inn Artist Residency. The winner will receive guided one-on-one coaching and feedback on a working draft ahead of the residency, and/or afterward on a draft produced during the artist residency. The writer will receive two (2) one-on-one feedback sessions with the grant advisor to be conducted remotely within a three month period surrounding the artist residency.

The 2023 grant advisor is Joselin Linder, author of the memoir The Family Gene (Ecco/Harper Collins), and co-author of the nonfiction books The Gamification Revolution (McGraw Hill), Game-Based Marketing (Wiley and Sons), and The Good Girl’s Guide to Living in Sin (Adams Media). She is also co-author of the humor books The Stoned Family Robinson (Adams Media) and The Purity Test (St. Martin’s Press). Her nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times, Elle, This American Life, NPR’s Morning Edition, StoryCollider, Life of the Law, and the New York Post. She is a faculty member at Gotham Writers Workshop in New York City.
